Can Psoriasis Cause Pain in Joints (Story)

I moved recently, on September 1, to Old Town Alexandria, Virginia so I just recently got a new job, and am getting resettled into a new life, so probably the stress of all that plays a part. I have been out of my routine, not eating the best and not exercising regularly; however, I do walk a lot.

I'm really getting worried about some new symptoms I’m  experiencing recently and wanted to share them here to see if anyone has experienced similar ones because I do believe some symptoms are either directly or indirectly related to what causes my psoriasis.

In August, I woke up one morning and my middle finger on my right hand hurt/felt sore and kind of stiff.  At first, the problem was not consistent, but random/on and off for a while. Then the pain, inflammation, joint stiffness and a slight curl of my finger developed and has become permanent/persistent over the last couple of months. I literally cannot completely straighten my middle finger anymore- it just stays slightly curled.

Around the same time the finger problem became more persistent, I’ve also been waking up almost every morning with both of my hands kind of tingly/numb…like they’re asleep.  Both hands, almost EVERY morning. In addition to that, my feet randomly suddenly have that pins and needles (like they fell asleep) feeling—even has happened while I am walking, but mostly when I’ve sat (even just for a short while).   This morning, for the first time, I felt that same slight pain in my right forefinger—very subtle though- but enough to where now I am kind of freaking out!  I don’t want all of my fingers to become stiff and curled.

My psoriasis has also gotten worse and suddenly new patches appearing where I’ve never had them before. I also have major bloating issues lately- worse than ever before- even when I’ve barely eaten.  I have to say, I’ve had digestive/bloating issues practically my entire life since I’ve been a young child, and it has of course gotten worse as I’ve gotten older and lately (especially over these last several months- the same time as my hand/finger problems) it has gotten really bad!  I know that it depends on what I eat/drink etc (especially when I have gluten/wheat/beans/sugar and many of carbs in general) and how much I’m exercising etc. etc.… but it seems just so out of control now.

Luckily my insurance pays. I pay like 30$ out of pocket I wouldn't be able to afford it without. The medicine is criminally exspensive.

Methotrexate Reviews for Psoriasis - My Story

I have had psoriasis for 15 years and have managed it with methotrexate for most of it. No side effects but basically my body has become immune to it. In the last 6-8 months I have flared up out of control and it’s at it worst. Never had any on my back and now it’s covered.

No idea what the trigger is and am trying a process of elimination now. I have just started taking Apremilast which is a new drug here and at the moment it’s not doing anything.

Taltz Injection Side Effects (PATIENTS REVIEWS)

Just had a bad injection experience today.  I have been on Taltz over a year and I still do not understand why some injections are not too bad and some are excruciating.  This injection was in my thigh and was very painful.  For me the belly does hurt less but is still painful.

I usually do one thigh each month and then belly (right/left) the next two months. I feel like I go through the same process before each injection but it doesn't guarantee the same outcome with each injection

Sugestions for Joyce : Inject in thigh with no ice before or after. Probably a few bad words after, but that’s about it
